It's either true or it isn't.

The basic story is true.

Don't be so precious.

It may very well be true, but turning to 'slightly more right than the Express' Fawkes for extra 'facts' about the case is pretty self-defeating in the credibility stakes.

I think the notable thing about this tory is the Lib Dems suspended them for doing it.

Tories on the other hand, keep doing it with acceptance from and driven by head office:

Yep, don't agree with any kind of skullduggery.

"Using Guido Fawkes as a fact checker?"

That link is also pretty biased and fails to mention that it criticises Conservatives as well on a fairly often basis.

The primary complaint on there is the language, not sure I've seen anything that would point to it as far right though...

So using that as a bias checker is pretty biased.

Lying, incompetence or both?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-50657736

And this is hilarious, XR protestors gluing themselves to the Lib Dem electric bus and then complaining that Swinson was patronising them...

Seems no one is doing enough according to the Climate Change activists.

They, like Snopes, are pretty much some of the most neutral and legitimately unbiased fact & bias checking sites out there. They're usually referred to as biased and one-sided by those whose biases are the ones getting debunked, and as their verifiable checks don't fit in with the baiased person's myopic narrative, they're regarded as biased themselves.

It doesn't matter who they criticise, and to infer they only fact-check one side of the political spectrum is to apportion bias where none exists. They aren't gauging media sites on WHO they criticise, more of how they go about publishing their stories ,opinion pieces masquerading as news & editorials, without providing evidence for their claims..

Essentially, Guido Fawkes is adding a few opinionated soundbites to their blog posts with the hope of increasing discussion to encourage clicking (Clickbait) or sharing on social media. Generally all stories favor the right with many having a nationalist tone and are poorly sourced. Further, this source down plays climate change by publishing articles that show Polar Bears are thriving and demonstrating that green energy is too costly.

Overall, we rate Guido Fawkes Right Biased due to word choices that favor the Right and Mixed for factual reporting based on poor sourcing
Again, it's not about who or what they're reporting on, it's how they go about it, and what evidence they supply to back up their clickbait claims. In short, they're virtual toilet paper

Not sure what your point is. Those two links you provide show that they gauge both those sites as extreme left, but follow up their articles with displayable facts to compliment their articles. Naturally those articles would be from a confirmation-bias led source, but they would back up what the site is saying. the difference between those sites you've selected and Guido is that more often than not, the latter makes sensationalist claims and rely on, again, confirmation-bias led bigotry to make their leaders accept the words on the page without the harsh reality of credible evidence to affirm what they're saying is true. The difference is selecting what truths to write about, and just writing unprovable lies and hoping no-one bothers to check.

FWIW, if any site has an exteme left-or-right bias I'd try to steer clear, as I'd know that I wasn't being shown the complete picture.

Like this, I assume:

https://labourlist.org/2016/10/i-tried-to-prove-the-canary-wrong-and-youll-never-guess-what-happened-next/

You know, of course, that Kerry Mendoza is currently being sued:

And Aaron Bastani:

https://twitter.com/MaajidNawaz/status/1201916257827741701

Of course, to counter-balance that, Carole Cadwalladr (sp?) is apparently being sued by Arron Banks but not seen anything about that since it was announced...
