I know he did a lot more than Blade Runner, but it's hard to not just think about his amazing performance in that as one of those roles nobody else could have done remotely as well.

May he Rest In Peace , I saw him in person years ago at a resort when we all much younger, I was with a group of vacationers he was very polite to some of the lovely ladies. I kept at a distance ,
Yes he very handsome indeed even in
person. At this resort they had a woman who did tarot’s card readings , Mr Hauer
approach me asking if I would read him. I said sorry I’m not a psychic reader, . It was later on I heard he was an actor.

He was famous for Blade runner and changed the dying words of his android character, "I have seen fires over orions belt" speech, which were far better than the original Script. That made his character so memorable.

After that he did a lot of 'B' and 'C' si-fi movies, mostly 'after the end of the world/apocalyptic' type movies, to make ends meet. Some were actually quite good.

Just had to find the best speech of Rutger's career in Bladerunner...

That emotional speech still sends shivers down my spine, as it sums up his android characters life where he has seen things that humans have never experienced, and the funny thing is the android died in the Bladerunner film (1982) which was set in the future year of 2019, the same year as the actor died in real life, Syncronisity in action!
