All frivolity aside, this is the kind of thing I was alluding to when i started the thread:

Quote:
A mother allegedly used explicit deepfake photos and videos to try to get her teenage daughter's cheerleading rivals kicked off the team.

Raffaela Spone from Pennsylvania, US, reportedly sent the content - which showed members of the Victory Vipers team "naked, drinking and smoking" - to the coach.

We might have to have trustworthy journalists again one day, eye witnesses may be the only true proof.

Deepfake technology is amazing, now you can do so much with the help of a neural network, which 20 years ago spent a lot of time

Been a while since I've been impressed by one enough to post. Helps if you have a good impersonator on ADR duties...

hearing currently underway in the US where the founder of OpenAI is being grilled by Senators about the tech

Quote:
As the hearing began, Senator Blumenthal played a recording of what sounded like his voice. Except it wasn’t.

In fact, he used a combination of AI generated voice cloning and GPT-4.

He didn’t say the words, he didn’t write the words - but it sounded exactly like him.

Voice cloning has been around for years, however companies like ElevenLabs have popped up recently that use powerful AI and can be used by anyone. The tool can be trained on as little as a minute of someone’s voice recording.

As Blumenthal says - it sounds impressive. But someone could equally clone his voice to say he supported Vladimir Putin. The tech could fuel disinformation and undermine trust in politicians.

Which is pretty much what I was getting at when i started the thread.

If you think AI technology is all fun and games, you clearly haven't seen the new 'Mike Patton as Britney Spears' Toxic video

the video, even if disturbing works quite well, the audio, by their own admission, not so much.

so I guess sooner or later just type the song you want to hear, and who you want to hear cover it, and the video and song will be with you
