We know the home devices like amazon echo listen in all  the time for commands, but also you can ask them to record.

Once this command is given, it is not known if and when it switches off from that command and may just record whenever.

it seems there has now been a double murder courtcase in the USA where the Amazon echo in the room may be a witness to sounds of the murder, and any recordings for that day have been asked for by the court from Amazon.

This sets a precedence for these devices to be used as witnesses by authorities, and best not to have one in your house if you feel its big brother listening in. I definitely do not have any of these listening devices or gadgets.
