New CH4 series by Sacha Baron Cohen...
Some moments of awkward comedy gold - and then a really, really scary part on American gun attitudes... what he 'got' people to do and say and what some of them genuinely believe - just wow.
Anyone see it?

i only heard about it yesterday when ppl at work were talking about Sarah Palin getting v anoyed making the news :)
Recorded it to watch when I get round to it. Apparently he deliberately waited a few years before doing this type of show so he'd be forgotten about and not recognised :)

Like you I can see why my work mate said it was funny in places and cringeworthy in others!
Really laughed at some bit, and others were just wtf?
SPOILER:
Heads, shoulders not the toes
didn't know whether to laugh or cry :( As has been said before the attitude to guns by some Americans really is completely different to what we're used to.
Reminded me of Brasseye, used to quite like Philippa Forester until that ;)

Watching right now... Jesus.
Before the NRA bit, I was close to giving up. The Republicans at the beginning for Trump seemed like nice people, the artist lady was nice, whether it was funny or not didn't come down to their reactions but the character Cohen was playing, and they just missed for me. :/
But the guns bit was great, the character was much more back to what seems to work well, an extreme representation of a character with awful views sucking in and showing up people with equally awful views or just a lack of brain cells.

when I was at uni, during the holidays, I'd do various temp jobs, working in warehouses, drivers mate etc. Now and again, the regulars there would try get you to do something impossible, ask their mate for a left handed screwdriver, find some tartan paint etc, but I remember saying to these guys "I know there's no such thing as that", or occasionally go along with the prank, as it was easier than arguing, but this is scary what these ppl will say or do when asked :(

Getting that girl to pretend she'd done the charity work and then promoting child soldiers - frightening.
And the mosque part with the openly racist community - just scary.

wow, as the series went on, I think it got less funny, but more interesting, and scary into how some people think, and what they are willing to do :(
We know there are nut jobs out there, racists etc, but the things these people thought they were doing is horrible, one even made a comment about not being a sheep :(
Actually in the last episode there was one thing that did make me smile :)
