I always wonder what the brits think what some of Americans done to the English language?Care to share 🤓

The English language has been imposed on us wayward colonials 

Mind you I married a Scot who worked in London. You should hear what her Engilsh Language sounds like. Took me three years before I fully understood her, and vice versa with my Aussie twang, and by that time I realised we were married and had two kids LOL!

Now with another two kids and 40 years later,  I think we have cracked the language barrier at last.

I went to England years ago and when the plane was getting to land at Heathrow airport, I was looking England approaching what came out my mouth was aye home at last. Odd right coming out the mouth of a Brooklyn lady go figure.,and I miss it a lot.It feels like a true lost.Yet when I was there I became so shy in speaking. I just hope I will get there again.

I suppose the Yanks have many local accents too :D

That video above was Gordie county (North England Newcastle), and here is a good Cornish accent song (South west England, Cornwall)

Also we have some good accents here from one of my favorite Yorkshire comedians John Shuttleworth in his Nice up north comic documetary visiting Scotland....(He also did southern softies documetary as well, worth seeing, so funny)

Shuttleworth and comedian do not belong in the same sentence unless it contains 'not'.

Err... Bandi your geographical knowledge of the West Country is somewhat flawed, the Wurzels are from Somerset!

If you ever venture to Cornwall, watch you don't go too far, as if you get to Land's End, as the world is flat you may fall off!



Ella, i wouldn't worry about what others think, i have visited many places around the world, New York i found to be busy, exciting, and most of the service industry staff trying to be over polite... (we did visit Brooklyn briefly as i wanted to cross the bridge), would i go back, definitely... as Sinatra said its so good they named it twice!

Las Vegas... well its not a real place, its all about 'show time' great to visit, but great to leave

Boston i loved... the people were just themselves, completely genuine, a relaxing a place.

Kansas, i have been fortunate to have served at Ft Leavenworth (not the Pen!) and have to say i absolutely loved the area, drove all over the place... and if i was 20 years younger without kids, would be emigrating tomorrow.
