Jimmy Kimmel "It's a sad day in America"
No it f***ing isn't, it's a disgrace but hey, let's blame Trump for the continuing failure of all US Presidents to do something about gun control...

1st thing Trump did was repeal laws that stopped mentally handicapped or unstable people to be able to buy assault guns, thats a bit different to the rest, especially when he bangs on about mental health and doesn't mention guns once.

On the radio this morning they said how Florida may increase the age and waiting period to get a gun, but the Senator has to agree.

RE: ANOTHER mass shooting in America
As long as you can buy guns under the counter or off a criminal, then gun control will never work.
Americans especially will not give up their guns as its their constitutional right for defense and forming citizen milita, unless their government comes up with another patriot act , to remove further rights in the name of freedom.

Absolute bollocks.
They introduced gun control in your native Oz. Despite opposition, there hasn't been a mass shooting since the 1996 massacre that prompted it. Illegal guns are still quite hard to get, you know. And the plain fact is, if guns are easy to come by, murders, suicides and gun accidents (all very high in the US) increase. A lot of people are not going to like it. Tough. It'll take a long time before the culture changes and people stop whining about their 2nd A rights: Tough again.
RE: ANOTHER mass shooting in America
Agree in Oz, as we are so level headed, unless we get the drink
But in the USA, especially the mid West and West, and I have been there many times, guns are everywhere legal and illegal, hidden or exposed.
And those that are with the gun lobby mentality, would have illegal guns tomorrow if legal were outlawed, assuming they do not already have some stashed away.
As you say its gun culture out there from the USA's history, and it will not change easily, no matter the mass shootings.
The point is, in some states in USA, it happens, spur of the moment, you can pass a check, walk into a shop, legally buy a hand gun.
if I wanted to buy a gun, spur of the moment, here, well, I couldn't, legally, or illegally, as although there may be places/people near me that sell them illegally, I wouldn't have a clue where to go.
a friend of a friend legally has a small collection of guns, but he is a responsible adult, with a license, goes to a range, some guns are antique collectables etc, so I could theoretically break into his house, look for the keys to the cabinets, find the safebox etc, but as he ex military, I don't fancy my chances too much ;)
