I made it through 3 or 4 mins but I really can't take these plums anymore.
The level of thick is unreal.
I enjoy listening to O'Brien's opening monologue most mornings unless it's on a topic I have no interest in. When he has callers who are prepared to have an intelligent discussion, regardless of their standpoint, great.
Too often though they only allow anything past their ears if it conforms to the opinion they already had.

It's fun to watch these plebs get questioned on comments that would usually just get affirming nods and 'yeah's from like-minded goits down the pub. James gets a lot of content by just asking questions that these idiots have never been asked. fair play to the caller that he, after a moment to reassemble his brain cells into a functioning order, was able to formulate some kind of response, even if that response was the same half-arsed gibberish.

I've actually read his books which are entertaining whilst pointing out his technique which can be summed up by 'Wind your neck in and keep asking them to explain or clarify'.
It obviously helps massively if you've got some level of knowledge and a researcher/producer who can ping stuff up an your screen mid wind up, but I had a reasonable amount of success with the occasional idiot passenger before retiring. Even getting the odd 'see your point' or grudging 'suppose so'.

Still too many people assume any white British taxi driver is automatically a Farage fan.
