Very much from my generation of watching Blue Peter. Him and Val Singleton
Didn't know he'd been suffering so I'd agree with his family that it's probably a welcome release.
Shame for someone who gave so much pleasure to others.

So bloody old that I can remember Chris Trace presenting it though strangely no memory of Leila Williams, even had to Google her.

Unbelievable guts Noakesy had. I remember watching the Nelson's Column climb heart in mouth. Just incredible they, including the camera crew, climbed it without safety harnesses.

And the Cresta run, remember that?

Condolences to John's family and friends.

What a time it was.

Puts me in mind of Fred Dibnah, remember him?

Were I ever forced up one of those ladders and it would take some forcing, I would advise not standing below due to the sh*t coming out of me trouser legs.
