The shock general election thread

bandicoot (Elite) posted this on Tuesday, 18th April 2017, 12:30

Well that was a shock, we are now getting a General Election on 8th June this year, only six weeks away, as May is fed up with the opposition parties countering the Brexit negotiations

So whats going to happen...its all up in the air!

Is Theresa May going to pack a bag and go, the same way as David Cameron?

Is Jeremy Corbyn siting on a seat stroking a cat, and thinking devious thoughts about power?

Is the SNP going to take over all seats in Scotland, and invade England?

Will there be any Welsh comments at all?

And Northern Ireland, whats going on there?

And will Cornwall become independent?

Hmmh, this will be even more interesting than Brexit, he he.

When Labour lose massively, at least we'll see that back of Corbyn in just a couple of months...

Yes, Think Corbyn going is going to be a definite result. The quicker the better.

I think your topic was too clever. :( Should I go and post on it so it doesn't feel lonely?

Too optimistic by far.
Labour will now be biting itself like a dog with Blairite fleas trying to deselect as many as possible. The left wont care about losing but regard it as a means of cleansing themselves. The result will be laid at the door of said Blairites ie: anyone not Corbyn/Momentum.
Labour could frighten the bejesus out of the Tories if they ditched Jeremy/Momentum and drafted in David Milliband and moved back towards the centre but that wont happen for probably another two, or maybe even three elections.
I think your looking at an increased Tory majority, Labour falling apart and a surprising, to some, resurgence of the Lib Dems as the only home for the 48%.
Obviously wont be reflected in a huge number of new seats but as a share of the popular vote.
UKrap could go either way. Either disintegrate or increase with the rabid Tory xenophobes piling on board expecting a Tory win but wanting to make a point.

Either way happy days as the country continues to rip itself apart.
