A security researcher has published a vulnerability and proof-of-concept exploits in Google's Internet of Things security cameras, marketed as Nest Dropcam, Nest Dropcam Pro, Nest Cam Outdoor and Nest Cam Indoor; these vulnerabilities were disclosed to Google last fall, but Google/Nest have not patched them despite the gravity of the vulnerability and the long months since the disclosure.

If it was a decent CCTV system it should have a 'down time' alarm, to tell instantly its not recording or secure signal has been tampered with.

The alarm contacts can do, along with tie in to building security, .the following...

Inform owner, to base station, or remote station, or to phone.

Can shut down secure areas, lock doors, close shutters, inform personnel or family to head to a secure bolthole, inform private security to investigate, etc.
