Anyone ever bought on this day?
Just wondering if it's worth putting off a large item (TV) till then or not.
I hadn't even considered it but the retailer mentioned it when I asked about a discount they already had running.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what `it` was.
Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary
Bought a few things on Amazon during Black Friday, mainly because it lasts a week. Some items it seems good for, most it doesn't seem that great for.
Got one of The Hobbit extended 3D editions on Blu-ray much cheaper in it, and a few years SSDs were very good value (as in price didn't become the norm for another 6-8 months after).
I think some retailers abuse it and put up their prices prior to the event to make things look cheap.

Like Amazon, who put it back up the RRP that you don't normally pay, and then drop the price to what you would normally pay, on a lot of items. But some genuine bargains if you search and are quick. Had a few in the past, mainly movie box sets of one sort or another.
Have bought stuff from Amazon, but as said you do have to check stuff out. Some genuine bargains which are usually obvious.
I've heard that a lot of stores are less keen now because they simply found that people stopped buying after black friday leading to poor xmas sales. Some are no longer doing it.
The TV that had people fighting in Asda was a piece of junk, I was in-store the following day & several people were returning them as they were so poor. Buyer beware, if it looks too good to be true, there's probably a reason.
Consensus seems to be not worth the wait.
Maybe just use it for minor items of known quality.
Thanks folks.
