That might just be the shortest leadership campaign in history!

EDIT: Boris obviously doesn't believe in the old adage, 'you broke it, you own it". But maybe he can give lessons in seeing the bloody obvious to Corbyn Dallas.

I think he's done a Hilary Clinton... decided he has a very poor chance of beating May (I guess he isn't that popular amongst MPs in the house) and figures he has a better chance for leader next time.

I'm actually glad, because he doesn't deserve to be PM by the back door, if he wants it he has to win a general election like (nearly) everyone else.

The floppy haired pillock is avoiding the Moyes/anointed one trap. Let someone else take the sh×t and fail then ride in on his blue charger to save the day.
To keep the parallel going I see a lot of similarities with Van Gaal.
I hope.

I'm quite pleased with this as I never wanted Boris in charge and most Conservatives don't either.

I'd like either May or Gove, preferably Gove, with Andrea Leadsom, Gisela Stuart, Kate Hoey and Frank Field all involved in the Brexit negotiations.  Maybe with Digby Jones and Ruth Lea in there as well...

I still can't see how they're going to square the circle of wanting to be in the free trade zone but not have freedom of movement.

Brexit/leave say that's what they want, rest of EU say no... and repeat those positions over and over.

Will whoever is new PM take us out even if it means no free trade?

Edit: Just read this, suggests we will be out of free trade on Brexit, then have to negotiate to get back in:

Are the politicians/EU officials just playing (very) high stakes poker, to see who blinks first? Or are we truly up Boris creek without a paddle?

Of course someone has to blink first, that's politics and negotiations for you...
