All out fall out

Snaps (Elite) posted this on Tuesday, 28th June 2016, 17:29

I suppose we should move this onto a new thread as we seem to be living in a new, if hateful reality.

The Tories are looking for a new leader and I find myself in the hideous position of thinking Teresa May is probably the least obnoxious option being floated and that's saying something as she's obnoxious enough.
Corbyn has just lost a no confidence vote by 170 to 40 but still refuses to go so Labour are in danger of disappearing down the political plug hole or even splitting.
The last I heard there was still a Lib Dem party though you wouldn't know it as the well meaning Vicar that leads all eight of them seems to have taken a vow of silence or disappeared into some religious retreat somewhere.
Farage struts about with a huge grin happy at the anarchy he's initiated and the country is in danger of becoming a nasty racist irrelevant growth of the coast of the mainland.

Still let's look on the bright side there's always the Football.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what `it` was.
Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary

Actually, the libdems have come out saying that they will be making re-joining the EU their party policy. I'll just leave that there...

I find myself really hating this country right now. Sitting amongst all the vote leave posters plastered all over this s***ty county. We are a pretty vile, nationalistic lot, believing our own hype that we are some kind of big player in the world. Laughable.

I notice that Farridge (Kent man, what a surprise) is trying to make our job negotiating with Europe even harder with his Jonah style victory speech (shout out to the Veep fans).

Only 36% of us, a number decreasing with age. Mostly people who don't understand how to use the internet or computers properly, and aren't in online communities which span countries.

And actually I think when some of them realise that the politicians who gee'd them up into this anti-EU fury turn out not to deliver what they want, they'll start to change their minds.

Or just get more angry and right wing, and vote BNP... :(

Think there's an awful lot of scare mongering going on here (in the wider sense rather than right here).

Any racist incidents need to be condemned, but if half the population were racist bigots as is currently being attempted to be portrayed by the media, then why on earth do Ukip only have one MP and why is the BNP vote virtually non-existent?

Outside the EEC, openly racist incidents on the streets, the economy tanking. I'm feeling practically nostalgic. All I need are the skinheads in Doc Martens spitting at us and calling us pakis as my mum walked me home from school, and it'll be as if I never left the seventies. I think I'll go watch Life on Mars now.

I just realised what the Labour Party leadership reminds me of. Corbyn is Saddam Hussein, and McDonnell is Comical Ali, "There are no US..." Booom!!! "tanks in Baghdad..."

When a lame duck prime minister calls you out on your incompetence...

Farage is nothing if not kind of the "shout loudest" brigade.

So conservative campaign is off, and it's Theresa May vs Gove vs Boris, with May being the current bookies favourite and Boris being the outsider. But then they got Brexit wrong so that should tell you nothing.

One thing there will be, much back stabbing as Tory MPs vote for their two options for leader.
