A big thank you to Tithers.

Myself and my other half went down to London at the beginning of the week to see the Flaming Lips at the Roundhouse. We were showered and just about to head out for a bite to eat when Lou got an email saying the gig had been cancelled due to ill health. My guess is that as the band are from Oklahoma and the news of the tornado was breaking, they were worried about friends and family. Fair play. Illness was just what they had to say to get them out of the gig contract wise.

So, we were now in London at 5 in the evening and not a clue what to do. I put it out on Facebook asking if anyone we knew in London was up for anything, and Alan came to our rescue.

Despite my online persona I am quite shy. And the idea of meeting someone I have never met fills me with dread. Even if I have just beat them at that weeks angry birds friends tournament.

I need not have worried. Alan is the most welcoming, engaging person you could hope to meet. He dragged us round the pubs he likes and they couldn`t be faulted. That is the true sign of what a person is like. The pubs they frequent.

So a massive thanks to Alan from Lou and myself. You salvaged what should have been a bit of a bummer of a night.

Having met Tithers on a few occasions when he frequented Devon on his annual ****up  I mean muso meet at Dartington.

Hes an all round great guy to have with you in a pub (& anywhere else for that matter).

My outlook on life is positive & carefree, I`m positive that I`m a pessimist & I don`t care what what you think.

Never has so little had to be explained by me to so many so often.

Three cheers for Tithers. I would never have expected anything less of him.

Yep top bloke (conspicuous by his absence)... Dartington Music Festival must be coming around soon (possibly August?)... anyone any plans to make it down, we are about 45 minutes away, but if gathering wants to take place I am sure we could pop down?

I don't drink, so that either makes me an enigma or something really bad. :)

Ooh, I don`t know. Erm, you are probably a variation of an enigma. (Alan based joke there)

Ha!

You`re too kind, Doc! Was great drinking copious amounts with yourself and Lou too :-)

(good Enigma joke btw...may use it myself at some point :p)

And yes Mark, Devon is happening as usual. Last three weeks of August. Will be in touch!
