Honestly? If I may don my Bandicap for a moment, i think the whole thing was orchestrated by the US to get him into a swedish courtroom, where he could be extradited from there to the US.
My Bandicap, thats a cracker  .........But I do have to agree.

The whole point is that Assange is an embarassment to the US goverment for us all seeing what nasty stuff the USA govermet agencies have been up to around the world, but, hey, we all know nasty things go on in secret by all goverments to a degree, but the USA do not like their dirty washing being shown.

Though I do not understand Assange as he must have know the wrath of the USA government would be on him with the wikileaks and assume easily `fixed up charges of sex abuse` appeared rather quickly, leading to this situation. We know anyone in this world can easily be `fixed up`, if not prostution, then drugs, fraud, taxation, etc.

Meanwhile our UK foreign secetary tries to destroy diplomatic standing around the globe by demanding Assange be arrested if he leaves the embassy, all in line with his USA masters.

It is getting political now, and Ecuador has now involved the whole of south America on the subject and the `hemispheric Organisation of American States` (OAS) called for a foreign ministers` meeting next week over the Assange affair.

Almost, if he leaves the embassy of his own volition, not a shred of damage will be done to diplomatic relations. His arrest will be legal, and in line with international law. If they storm in waving pieces of paper, THAT`s where our dimplomacy dies

Al Capone got done for tax evasion...

Just saying. Public perception is that the US want him by hook or by crook.

If Sweden really wanted him to face those charges in a fair trial, all they`d have to do is explicitly state that regardless of the outcome of the trial that Assange would not be extradited to the US under any circumstances.

That would leave the ball in Assange`s court.

This intervention from Galloway will bring the story back to where it should be.

Yeh, a total sex `set up`, where miss A and miss S are paid or even coerced into making it look worse than it was.

Do you actually think it was coincidential that some sort of charges, in fact any sort of charges were suddenly brought to bear on the man that embarassed the USA. Its a wonder he did not just have an `unfortunate deadly accident` during this time, like they usually do.

Galloway is just putting into words what a lot of us are thinking, and the USA and the UK are only getting in deeper into the mire.

We are in the hands of the USA, and the UK polititians are just puppets acting on their behalf.

Galloway may not be helping here, some of the things he says (if the BBC are representing him correctly) are not good. I think it doesn`t matter how drunk you are, if you fall asleep whilst someone is inside you, that`s it, the fun should stop! Anything beyond isn`t consensual.

If you decide halfway through the night that you want a second bit of fun and the other participant is asleep, and you choose not to wake them up and slip in and out (though if you can do that they must be pretty drunk not to notice, or maybe you are pretty small) without waking them, that isn`t consensual either!

None of this changes the real big dodgy facts of this whole case, that the Swedish authorities have refused to give Assange`s legal team any assurances that he wouldn`t be shipped off to America.

Not entirely, but you`re missing the point.
