Who sells the best mince pies?

Anywhere selling deep filled with icing on the top?

Or....deep fried??

No where sells the best mince pies as the best are the ones you make, that look all wonky and leak and have funny crispy bits where they leak...but if you have to have shop bought ones, then I like asda extra special!

My mum`s mince pies are very good, as are ones made by a lady i used to work with.

regarding shop ones

http://www.mincepieclub.co.uk/

is useful, they review loads of shop ones, from Mr Kipling, shop`s own, to "designer" ones.

The M&S and Co Op premium ones aI remember being god last couple of years, but missus doesn`t like the taste of alcohol in mine pies so we avoid the brandy ones now which the premium ones normally are :(

I remember the other year Sansburys taste the difference were better than Tesco Finest. You`d have thought they`d all be made in the same factory with same ingredients!

edit:

http://www.pieclub.org.uk

that may be the site I used before, it was a year ago so I`m not sure :)

My Dad-in-law a few years back decided to have a go at cooking (never got further than chop and chips before) and made some mince pies.
We still talk about them, you could have failed a breathalyser on just one bite.
Great time tasting though.
"Here this one`s Brandy or maybe it was Cointreau I forget"
So did we after two or three pies.

Every Third Car

I used to be with it, but then they changed what `it` was.
Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary
