On the 'Latest Forum Posts' column on the left, when we click one, can it, erm, take us to the latest forum posts?  Mine just goes to the first page.  Unless it's something to do with 'New' tags?

Clicking a new tag (as long as you are logged in) should always take you to the first unread post! Just clicking the thread title won't.

I never knew that, annoyed me on my phone having to go to the last page manually! Guess I should have rtfm ;)

I've just finished migrating MyReviewer to AWS, there is still a proxy from the old server to the new one in place so in theory apart from anyone who saw a maintanence message for about 20 mins earlier today, nobody will have notice.

If you suddenly find all the forum messages marked unread, just log out and back in again and it should fix itself.

There may be other issues, not tested everything yet!

AWS = Amazon Web Services?

any particular reason for that? Just curious, I'm not v clued up on the differences, pros and cons between the services, costs etc unlike some of my colleagues. I think it's Amazon one of my colleagues uses for his own Twitter farm project.

Yes, Amazon Web Services.

Been using it at work for the last year, so become familiar with it. It's also the cheapest and featured (if maybe not the most user friendly) cloud service.

Main reason is to reduce costs and gain flexibility. For a while everything has been on one server, which is fine because it's a huge beast of a server. But it's nice to spread things around on smaller ones if you can, and AWS lets you do that.

Cloud hosting also allows you to easily clone a server, and also just change the hardware specs without having to migrate everything from one physical box to another (which is not fun!).

Okay turns out a beefy AWS instance can be brought to its knees by running Postgresql on it, had to move the database to Amazon RDS instead.

Search is currently broken until I'm sure the DB is working.

Sometimes things look and work just great until you hit them with a load of traffic. :/
