Broken News

Anyone see this last night?

I started watching it and it`s immediately obvious that it`s very clever. The more i watched though the funnier it got. It`s so fast and quick, and so well written and performed. Absolutely brilliant.

It was ok. Its no `The Day Today` or `Saturday Night Armistice` but nothing is really.

Agreed. It`s not as biting as The Day Today, but it is amusing nonetheless.

In fact, the interview of the creators on the bbc website shows that that wasn`t what they were going for. In fact they came across as quite sympathetic to newsreaders.

I`m not too sure how much the novelty will wear off though. I`m sure that the sketches, for want of a better word, will get more and more farcical, whereas i quite like the bits that more realistic.

It was fun and clever. I especially liked the news ticker-tape headlines and the changing sports details. But that said it is a bit of a one trick pony. No sure I want to sit through a whole series of it ?

We were discussing `The Day today`........er...today...
Which came first,it or `Brass Eye` ?

Partridge was classic on whichever one of those he appeared.
Paraphrasing;

"Over to Alan Partridge in Paris...Alan,have you heard what the French minister had to say"
"Yes,I was talking with him this morning and he said he was happy with the way things were going"
"You spoke with him ? "
"Yes"
"But he only speaks French doesn`t he"
"...................yes"
"so what did he say"
"em..............Je...............ne..........bleeeeh "
"You don`t speak French do you Alan"
"...no"
"You didn`t speak to him at all did you"
"no"

:D

"On the Hour" preceeded "The Day Today" on radio.

that there is Chris Morris talking to Peter O`Hanarahanrahan!

still Day Today is a funny show.

Broken News wasnt too bad though, and It did get very funny towards the end, but I just found some of the stuff outside the main story `Tomato Flu` a bit pointless and rubbish,.
