Family Guy: The Return

Now that everyone`s fave adult animation has been uncancelled, what do you reckon the chances are of a channel in the UK picking up season 4 and not cutting it to shreds, showing it pre-watershed and making it look like a Simpsons clone?

I`d love it if Paramount Comedy picked it up. Or at least if Sky One treated it in a similar vein to Duckman all those years ago.

Trips to the video store for a quiet night in can be fun. But remember;

* DO NOT peer through Mr T`s WINDOW on the WAY home, and LAUGH at him watching BRING IT ON alone with his trousers UNDONE!

i know that as far as terrestrial channels go, the BBC have the rights i believe. how much did they cut the Simpsons?

if this is true, BBC have got a real good deal, they lost the Simpsons just as the bad seasons were about to begin, and have got in return Family Guy, which is more popular than ever. I haven`t watched any of these new Simpsons on Channel 4, but have seriosuly enjoyed the old episodes on before Hollyoaks. Shame 4 insist on putting in such ludicrous ad breaks

There`s not nearly as much to cut in The Simpsons, though.

If the BBC do have the rights to a new season, and decide it`s for a 6pm slot, then Family Guy would probably be cut to ribbons. Or select episodes not shown at all.

Or they`ll go the edgy late night comedy route a la Seinfeld, when we`ll see an uncut Family Guy at 1am on a weeknight every month or so....

I can just imagine the anger that will be directed at the Beeb if they show "Merry Christmas Mr Weinstein" and the song "I need a Jew".
And we thought the Jerry Springer Opera got flak.
I hope they do show this one as the song is hilarious.

Sjt One used to show Family Guy at 20:00 before Futuram (or it may have been 20:30 after Futurama).

I remember watching the odd episode and thinking "bl00dy hell, I`m surprised they can say that on tv at this time".

Watching the DVDs though I can`t honestly remember how much if any was cut at that time.

One of the most distuirbing memories IMHO is still where Peter is "feeding" Stewy! Funny cos I`m on fx289 mailing list, and one mail shot had an embedded advert for the show and showed that scene! I remember thinking, that is either gonna make ppl tune in,or want to stay clear! No in between ;)

Maybe BBC will do like the did with Buffy, 18:45 midweek, uncut shown late night Fri.

Ah, maybe FX289 will get pay to view rights for the new season.

That would be great.

As far a Sky One`s first showing of Family Guy (way back in `99!), i`m not sure what was cut, but watching the DVDs, i`m sure some of the more (for lack of a better word) risque episodes must have been cut for a pre-9pm showing.

I know i enjoyed the show a helluva lot more on DVD.

FX289 are showing Season 1 at present, so it wouldn`t surprise me if they got Season 4

When is it out in the US?

Be good to see it on UK TV, but there are ways of seeing it before it is if you know what I mean....

You can fly over to America, rent a hotel room with cable and watch it. :D
