People who talk in cinemas

Lee Thews (Competent) posted this on Sunday, 20th April 2003, 11:12

People who talk whilst you`re trying to watch a film in a theatre (you know who you are!), please feel free not to talk throughout the film, I paid £5.30 to listen to an actor, not some moron telling his girlfriend what he`s going to do at work the next day. Why bother going to a cinema if you want to have a chat? Go to a cafe instead. And if the film is boring you...leave! Don`t ruin it for everyone else. And one last thing....turn off your mobile phones. That little message before the film starts is for you as well as everyone else with a phone still turned on.
On a lighter note though, whilst watching Jurassic Park 3 someone in the audience started complaining because she thought the mobile phoning ringing on screen was someone in the theatre.

"People who talk in cinemas"

Are bastards. I just complain and get them chucked out. Although it doesn`t happen too often at my local UGC.

Tell me about it......
I have a UGC pass & I work nightshift, so the films I see are in the afternoon performances. Now reading this you would think this would be ideal (mid-week + afternoon = no kids).
BUT there are these two f*ckin old grannies that seem to be in every perfomance I go to & they sit and talk each other about the film incase the other missed it or don`t understand.
Now this I wouldn`t mind if it was at one or two points in the film but it`s the WHOLE f*ckin film & no matter where I sit in the theatre, I can still hear them.
I have mentioned to staff but they think I`m being fussy & after all there only "harmless pensioners".

movie_buff, hate to say this, but I have complained about old grannies before, and had them removed. I wasn`t the only one that complained though. It`s because they are probably deaf, and have to speak louder. But what gets me is they were complaining about the film being "too noisy".

On second thoughts, I have no shame ;-)

Went to see Chamber of Secrets, and was prepared to put up with noisy kids, frequent toilet trips etc. But the couple if front, who were right in my line of sight, who were giving each other mouth to mouth through the whole firm were just a bit much.

After biting my tongue for the first hour I asked them to get a room. The behaved for the rest of the film.

Moral of the story is sit in the bloody back rows if you`re just there to snog, not half way down the fecking cinema.

Totally agree about noisy mobiles, but its the ones that have them on silent, but carry on texting through the film. Nice green glow that really catches your eye.

No wonder I buy DVDs...

"Nice green glow that really catches your eye."

Not anymore, now it`s the phones with the full colour screen that seems to have a million-watt lightbulb behind it, illuminating the area around the tosser so brightly, it`d actually possible to do those hand shadows on the ceiling

LMAO Classic !!! Yeah really písses me off, floodlit people dotted throughout the Cinema...

Although I cannot say I have never opened my mouth during a film. I occasionally lean over to whoever I go with and drop in a comment or word. But I try to be subtle. I remember when I first saw Lord Of The Rings, when Lord Elrond first appears I leant over to my m8 and went "Holy shít its Agent Smith... Run Frodo!"

You should all just be content that you`ve got a bloody multiplex to go to. My nearest is 90 minutes away. We only have a s***ty 100+ year old, mold infested cinema that`s latest showing this week is Catch Me If You Can.

Where do I live? North Wales, the land of "we don`t believe in cinemas."

Lord Of The Rings: Return Of The King Coming................Late 2006.

Thank goodness for DVD.
