Metro Exodus removed from Steam...

Well this is a bit of a s***ty move just two weeks prior to launch.

I suspect this will backfire on them completely in a similar way to the BF V controversy late last year...

Hopefully it'll be such a disaster for the Epic store that they'll lose a lot of money on it. Then by the time they put it back on Steam the initial rush will be gone.

Talking of too many stores, is there a utility that will keep track of all your games across all stores to stop you from buying them again by accident? I'm so sure I'll do that at some point...

I use this app to keep track of my games. It's not free & I can't remember how much it costs. It doesn't show me the price on the app store because I'm logged in.
It works for both physical and digital.

Thankfully, so far none of the Epic store exclusives have interested me in the slightest.

Still waiting in the hope for a State of Decay 2 release on Steam. I refuse to use Microsoft's awful store.

Rage 2 will be on Bethesa's store/launcher, which makes me concerned that Doom Eternal will be too.

They don't seem to understand that people use these other garbage platforms because they have to. People use Steam because they want to.

I can understand Rage 2, they are the publishers.  More than happy with uPlay to date, but most of my library is still on Steam.  Much prefer the Steam forums to discuss any game I'm playing (if it's there, obvs).

There appears to be a bit of a backlash brewing over Metro at the moment, the latest move appears to be review bombing the earlier games - although not quite sure what effect that will have as they've been around for a while already.

We'll see just how serious this might be for Deep Silver in a couple of weeks...

Although I have Metro 2033 Redux in my Steam library, I've not played any of this series. But this will be the third in the series? Probably a good time to stop!

But this is common practice? It doesn't make it right, but there's a reason console games are PS4 exclusive, or exclusive for a limited time, some-one throws a shed load of money at someone else (maybe in a brown envelope under a table ;) )

I guess PC "exclusivity" is a new thing since the market has changed from ppl going into Game and buying a CD/DVD.

Epic realised they needed some exclusive AAA content, went around to different companies, only 1 bit, and agreed to x amount of money, because they thought ooh, if Epic gives us X we have that money in the bank no matter what, if we stick with Steam , we'll only get money if the game sells, it will only sell if reviewers/youtubers like it/are bribed enough.

So the suits in finance thought "A) we spend $W to  receive $X, or B) we get paid $Y and get $Z on top".

B) =  kerching looking at excel and nothing else ;)

I agree with you that morally they can do what they like, it's their game, who wouldn't take the exclusivity money if it is there. Hopefully they are getting some because this is going to seriously hit their sales!

Trying to guilt trip it's fans into buying it on Epic because if they don't, there may not be another one is not exactly smart PR. I'm amazed anyone thought that was a good move.

For me it's just irritating that we have another online store, on top of the loads I already use.
