Page 1 of Anyone recommend me some Playstation 3, 2 and 1 games?

Any must play games for these consoles? I just got a PS3 which can play PS2 and PSX games so I'm interested in what I should get for it.

1-3 I had on PS1 I think there's "remixes" for ps3

Tony hawk Pro skater 1,2,3,4 (actually it's probably better to just download Tony hawk Pro skater HD for PS3)

Final fantasy 7,8,9

Metal gear solid ( the "first" one on PS1 is only one I've played)

My mate had Die Hard, I remember it being good I think

Doom :) (PS1 version is doom 1 and 2 and is really good)

There's probably some little known gems I've forgotten about, I don't think they're in the loft, so I'll have a look, some I have may be "imported" otherwise could lend you some.

It's supposed to support them, PS1 via emulation and PS2 via the emotion chip (I got a Japanese model!). I've installed CFW so region locking for PS1/PS2 shouldn't be a problem.

Got to go with everything here, Die hard trilogy is an absolute must, if only for Die Hard 3, which was what the game sold on. Not sure how good DH2 will be as it was designed for the lightgun, but it should have joypad support.

Oddworld Abe's Oddysee is worth a punt.

I think Shadow of the Colossus has had a HD remake recently, which is handy as the PS2 original disc is going for silly money online. 

Mustn't forget Gran Turismo. I lost months on that perfecting my little red GTO

Writer`s Release

I still have my PS1, kept it for Tomb Raider. Pandemonium was something I spent hours playing but it's expensive on eBay (well it was last time I looked). I also liked Micro Machines but not sure if that's rose tinted glasses.
My favourite PS2 game is Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
