Chess 3D on Steam Greenlight

Wow, I'm shocked. In this day and age, how something with it's main selling point of being 3D chess pieces, that this could have such awful graphics and an archaic UI that reminds me of Windows 3.1!

Well Tryston, perhaps you should search for one called "3D Chess" on Steam. :( Or even one called Pure Chess, both of which don't look like they were made when Quake 1 came out.

Is it a Battle Chess clone?

Steam are going to drop Greenlight in favour of 'Pay to List'. The idea being that a serious developer will pay up front to get listed and will create a better quality product to get their money back.

I think the worst greenlit I ever saw was not much more than one of the UE4 training templates mashed into a 'jump the obstacles' game.

Looks a little like it is, if BC was on a Playstation 1. :(

I think a pay to list might weed out a few potential gems, but yeah a lot of awful rubbish too.

I'm pretty sure I played Battle Chess on an Amstrad PC1640.  20MB hard disk and 640KB or ram. Or perhaps my friends Amiga.

not sure if it was the 'enhanced' version with VGA graphics though. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_Chess

Wow, who would try and release an indie game without advertising these days?

Just looking at how many new games hit steam in the last day... you don't stand a chance of getting noticed.
