You may be waiting longer then - isn't that the US price?  We're £499 - plus postage.

We will pay the price but we will not count the cost..

£500 is what they said on the radio ealier today. They must have improved the hardware a lot since the version my colleague had, as that's double what he paid/sold it for.

he did say that the games that used it well like Aliens were brilliant, but sometimes the screen resolution let it down, so maybe the screen has been improved lots.

they also said the Sony one would be a bit cheaper (I guess they can use it like a console loss leader), and another "competitor" was going to cost a bit more.

I've heard that, considering the tech in the unit and its build quality etc., it's apparently pretty good value.

Microsoft have been developing Augmented Reality instead of going full VR, which might actually turn out to be a big success for them if they can get the hardware light enough.

This is a concept video as to how it might work with a big sporting event, can kind of see this could be an enticing use for it.

Bit late responding to this one, but it looks like this is just Air retro-fitted with VR headsets. I can't think of a more nauseating experience.
