Classic zelda in Oculus Rift... (don't worry, the dual view drops to one when the game starts).

I started to go off arcade games early to mid 80's when you had to pick up a toy gun to shoot at a screen, or ride on a fake motorbike, or wear VR headgear, as I suddenly I became very aware all eyes were on me.

I always felt more comfortable just hiding in a corner, moving joystick, and pressing buttons and looking at a screen, seeing 2D platforms in action. Ah, half an hour play for 10p, those were the days

Thank god, home based game consoles came along, soon after, as I really went off arcades.

I think a lot of those "new fangled gadgets" in games started as a way to win back gamers into arcades as the popularity of home consoles meant ppl weren't using coin-ops any more. I remember being amazed when a mate told me about Galaxy Force in one of the arcades in Southsea, as that went left, right, and up and down, I honestly can't remember if it was any good or not, but I know I shoved loads of 50ps into it, when the nomral games were 10/20p :(

Anyway, rose tinted glasses away, VR headsets at the ready ;(

This is Project Morpheus, Sony's prototype VR headset

Including the guy who owns Minecraft. He was in the middle of a deal that would see the game come to the Rift but cancelled it as soon as this was announced, because he "Doesn't trust Facebook".

Its a shame because Rift would have been an ideal platform for it.
