RE: So... what are you playing just now?
Shadow of the Colossus is a fantastic game, although it takes ages on horseback to get anywhere due to the size of the landscape. I spent ages in certain locations just admiring the scenery. Hanging on to and climbing up the giant creatures is amazing, but I did regret having to kill the poor beasts. You felt real sorry for them, all just to save a stupid princess LOL.
if i remember after playing it right through, I saved just before each battle, so I could fight the creature up to the point of not killing it, and move on to the next fight. I liked it better that way, not killing.
Another good game, which the game company made previously was ICO, and that again has fantastic scenery in a massive castle, and I did not mind killing the minion baddies, as they were just black blobs.

Desperados III
I've been waiting for this since they announced it two years ago. So addictive and faithful to the original games. I'm so glad the Commandos-style real time stealth genre is making a comeback. The same devs previous title, Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun, was one of the best games in recent memory IMO. Currently on sale 85% off on Steam, btw.
Recently played the demo for Partisans 1941 as well, which treads similar ground, albeit in a WW2 setting.

My sons have bullied me into the realm of Fortnite. It's a hefty download anyway at 80gb, but the plus side is I can play with them (in creative) while I'm on my PC, and they're playing separately on iPad & Xbox. A downside to this is some of the PC players have modded accounts which skews the gameplay, and would probably be a good indication of how much of a clusterfark cross-compatibility would be if added to other games such as COD or GTA.
Also picked up Hue as a freebie, an intriguing little puzzle game where selecting colours on a small palette wheel makes similarly coloured walls & blocks temporarily vanish. Simple concept, tricky in execution.

They've also released Last Guardian on the PS4. Gameplay looks similar to Ico, but instead of dragging a fey young lass around, this time it's a massive dog/bird hybrid thing.

I enjoyed 1 and 2 on the PC, i think missus played 3 on the ps3 and enjoyed it, not played any on ps4. I think i saw on hukd one of them was pretty cheap for dl version at the moment.
I played a bit of the one that was a homage to 80s actions film, rock hard but good fun.
