Yet another creature feature.

And as Rob and mbilko and I says we have to see them, no matter how corny they are LOL.

I think there's a few I haven't seen, am I going to understand this one if I haven't seen them, or will I need to catch up? ;)

edit:

I have some catching up to do, as I saw the Peter Jackon King Kong at the cinema (was a bit bored) and the 1998 Godzilla film at the cinema (which I don't really remember), but none since,  the're not this Monsterverse

The last thing I expect this to be is intellectually challenging.

I'm sure there will be bits where someone who's seen everything from the B&W originals till now will give it the 'Of course you realise that...' but I'm sure the rest of us will find big Monkey vs big Lizard entertaining enough.

Better than the previous lot. More monster on monster action without cutting away to the less interesting human drama. Satisfying conclusion, Mecha-Godzilla made sense and wasn't just thrown in for brownie points...

...Unlike the inclusion of flavour of the month Millie Bobby Brown. On the cast list for name alone as she contributes less than nothing to the overall story. Even Julian Dennision only has one action that has any bearing on the movie, and frankly, that role could have been portrayed by someone spilling a coffee over a laptop, seriously. Their entire parts feel like an afterthought. But take them out and the movie's only an hour long.

Other than that, would recommend
