RE: [VIDEO] The Official Title For Star Wars: Episode IX Revealed

We watched 7, 8 and then 9 as we went into lockdown last week. Parts 7 and 8, especially 8 have aged well I think. I was always surprised by the reaction 8 got on the internet. It's a good SW film imho, and a very interesting middle part. But by god what a mess part 9 is. I really didn't expect it to turn out like this. Considering where it was left I thought they had so many things they could do with it. Kylo becoming more powerful, taking Snoke's place! OMG he's trying to dredge up the Empire! His story was way more powerful than Anakin's in the prequels. But no we get this crazy mash of crap just thrown at the screen in the hope that some of it might work. None of it did. There was simply no story or anything of interest happening. Worse, it undid all the good stuff and goodwill earned that came before in 7 and 8.

A lesson in how not to react to internet reactionaries. Those people who came out decrying TLJ are what caused this shocking mess, much like the goddawful Attack of the Clones after The Phantom Menace.

Luckily I have the wonderful despecialized editions so I can forget all this crap.

I just could never get into the films after the original trilogy (4, 5 &6) I have those on DVD, the rest i did not really care if any character died especially Ja Ja binks , I just had no empathy with them all, unlike the first three where we loved the characters.

As for the latest films, went to the cinema to see them only once, I only bought the two stand alone movies on DVD, as they were good, ie, rogue one (to find the death star plans) and Solo (Han Solos life story), especially the hijacking the monorail train scene was worth buying it for the visuals.

Just catching up on the latest ones on my daughters Disney plus subscription.
I'm completely out of touch with the order of them ie: four was the first etc.
The Force Awakens is so much better than Rogue One which I found a bit of a plod. Last Jedi on the list for this week.

I tried the first two episodes of The Mandalorian and find it quite disappointing. Trying, not very successfully, to be Fistful of Dollars with spaceships and a main character with even less expression than Eastwood.
Difficult to have any sympathy/empathy with someone who has a cross between and toaster and a kettle on his bonceĀ 24/7.
