"Disney have enforced ads on it so they can rake in the fractions of pennies"

For several years I had a short video on my YT channel that featured the post-credits scene from Cloverfield, showing the Slusho satellite crashing into the sea off Coney Island. No audio, just a 6-second clip, with stills of the object with big blue arrows pointing it out. It proved quite popular, and the views came in thick & fast. It wasn't until it got over 250,000 views that I received a similar message telling me that Paramount was going to monetise the video.

Seemed like a bit of a petty dick move, so I deleted the video anyway. It wasn't like I was providing unique content, and the actual amount of money I was getting from it amounted to exactly zero, so sod 'em.

Thing is, under YT's new Ts & Cs, that kind of video can't be monetised, especially on low-number accounts like mine.
