Bohemian Rhapsody (Freddie Mercury story)
I'm sure this has been mentioned before, as it's been in the works for a long time, but I couldn't find a thread about it - anyway, it's the movie that has had its ups and downs, Ali G, I mean Borat, I mean Sacha Baron Cohen was going to play Freddie, but there were arguments about whether it was a Queen or Freddie film, anyway, trailer makes it looks like they've really gone to a lot of effort...

Looks good
RE: Bohemian Rhapsody (Freddie Mercury story)
Saw this today.
Despite the reviews mostly being fairly average, I thought it was excellent.
Rami Malek was amazing - and the last 20 mins or so, you just don't want to end..
Really should be seen and heard on the big screen.

Thanks for the review.
I bet the 'live aid' re-enactment scenes were fantastic, I remember watching the whole day and night live on TV (the UK and USA concert) and Queen stole the show, just one of those moments of rock history not ever to be forgotten.
Will have to find the time to see this film before it finishes at the cinema.

Not counting the timeline inaccuracies (in which there are many) thought it was a good film and the Live Aid sequence was spot on.

Agreed - but important to note it's a story, not a documentary of him/them.

The Radio Ga Ga clapping by thousands of people not even there to see Queen still raises chills today, and the crowd singalong - which I never knew until very recently was a Mercury staple...

I was talking to people at work the other week after they saw it, and was trying to explain to them that before Live Aid... Queen were really uncool, and they found it hard to believe.

RE: Bohemian Rhapsody (Freddie Mercury story)
I almost never saw Live aid live on the day. Mum wasn't interested and dragged me up town instead. Luckily nearly every TV had it on, and I remember sitting on the carpet on front of 20 TVs in Rumbelows watching Freddie sing Radio GaGa.
I have heard that they replicated and filmed the entire Live Aid set. Hopefully that'll be included on the extra features
