Peter Rabbit

Well, I wasn't expecting much, but kids wanted to see Peter Rabbit, reviews weren't promising, however the missus enjoyed it, I enjoyed it, and the kids enjoyed it, well I assume they did, I was too busy laughing to notice, but I didn't hear them crying :)

It's very funny, Domhnall Gleeson (Star Wars' Hux, Potter's Bill Weasley) as Mr McGregor is brilliant, shows he really is a very versatile actor.

The film doesn't take itself seriously and does a good job of parodying kids'/family films :)

For an alternate take, I thought it was repugnant. My lad is three and loves the animated version, but this was mean-spirited, vulgar and seemed to ignore most of the core values espoused by the character. They also omitted two of his favourites (Lily and Nutkin) and what the hell were they thinking with Mr. Tod? He was disappointed by it and I hated it. Even his mum, who will watch almost any old tat, thought it was terrible, to the point that she said she's never going to let him watch it again.

YMMV.

My boys loved it, but the high point for me was the CG fur, especially close-up.

Went to see this with the grand-children. It was still on at our local flea-pit.

It was a really good story, brilliant CGI effects with those bunnies.

Enjoyable throughout. Will get it on DVD eventually.
