Rob says....I still need to see Pan's Labyrinth.
Its worth seeing on DVD, but it is very violent and vicious,
SPOILER:
You are left wondering was the fairyland real or just in the girls mind to blank out the vicious times she lived in
My wife wanted to see this, so I let her go to the cinema
Ok, I tagged along reluctantly to see it.
it was better than I though, the characters were very good, especially the black woman and the baddy security guy.
The stupid thing was the way the cleaning ladies could just walk around a top secret establishment. I know, as I in the past have been escorted around these sort of places, with a woman officer holding an uzi, and that's just to get into a ventilation plant room LOL! (was not funny at the time more a real cold sweat time).
Anyway I digress, the film was quite good overall, and a reasonable ending. it had a real 50's cold war feel about it, and only downside was that the russian scenes had no subtitles, so you had to guess what the conversations were about.
Conclusion, not bad, but not worth getting on DVD.
Enjoyed this too. Agree, although fantasy based, cleaners having almost free access at such a facility was a bit silly.

We will pay the price but we will not count the cost..
RE: [VIDEO] The Shape of Water
Managed to watch this over the weekend. Wasn't quite expecting 'that' bathroom scene within the first 5 minutes, but I soldiered on. Looks nice, good performances, but the underlying story's been done several times before (good guys try to save an other-worldly being from the evil government who just want to kill it etc), just throw in some fish-sex and call it art.
Certainly not best picture of the year, by a long shot.

Agree Pete.
Three Billboards was a far better film.
