[VIDEO] The Foreigner

Jackie Chan goes all Liam Neeson, and it looks to be a return to form for him.

Irish terrorism might be old hat... or it might be prescient depending on how this Tory DUP thing and the powersharing talks work out...

That's interesting they're using the IRA as the villains in this piece bearing in mind the complete failure of young Corbyn fans to understand his links in the past.

When you say links, do you mean the links that mainly The Telegraph are endlessly promoting?

Worth checking the facts:
https://www.channel4.com/news/factcheck/factcheck-corbyn-on-northern-ireland

I didn't vote for Corbyn, nor would I particularly want him as PM, but I don't think he is in any way a supporter of terrorism. But then "links" is a wonderful meaningless statement used lovingly by the press when no actual proof is required.

This is politics though, where fair is not a word anyone cares about.

"Worth checking the facts:"

So out of interest, which facts were actually checked here:

"The Labour leader has been less forthcoming about his contact with people actually convicted of terror offences, although some of these meetings are well documented too."

"In December 1984, two weeks after an IRA bomb killed five at the Tory Party conference in Brighton, Corbyn invited convicted IRA volunteers Linda Quigley and Gerry MacLochlainn to the House of Commons. It caused uproar at the time.

But in an interview with the BBC’s Andrew Neil last week, Mr Corbyn said: “I never met the IRA. I obviously did meet people from Sinn Fein, as indeed I met people from other organisations, and I always made the point that there had to be a dialogue and a peace process.”"

"The editorial board said that “the British only sit up and take notice when they are bombed into it” and saw fit to include a number of jokes about the attack sent in by readers.

The extent of Corbyn’s personal involvement in this issue of the magazine remains unclear."

"Some critics insist he had a closer relationship with the magazine than this suggests, but we have not been able to find hard evidence of Corbyn having a hand in the writing of the infamous editorial."

Don't really see anything definitive here that is fact checked.

Also doesn't cover anything such as:

I'm ex-military and lived through some of this (particularly the IRA overseas campaign during the summer of 1989) and lost a few friends in NI, so I acknowledge my bias here.

I like Jackie Chan films, his comedy and adventure movies, but this movie ...A resounding No.

I for one will not want to pay and go to see such a movie, because of reminding us of 30 years of terrorism, hatred and suffering.

It was bad enough in real life, without having to dramatise it.
I think it will be a total flop here.

I think that's kind of the point really, the mud slinging isn't fact checkable, so it's heresay. Much like did Cameron do something with a pig?

Even the link in that article is from a Daily Express news piece, which is hardly the most reliable of sources at the best of times. Let alone the 80s where many newspapers regularly printed bare faced lies about the "looney left".

Also it doesn't fit in with his long standing open stance of being a pacifist.
