Dumb smart meters

They tell you to fit smart meters for accuracy, yet SSE smart meters went nuts this week.

The BBC news has told of social media postings of customers getting quoted up to £20,000 for a days usage of gas and electricity.

SSE apologised and said customer's would not be charged from resulting errors

You can legally refuse a smart meter as I have. I am glad I have.

Quote:
A team from the University of Twente and the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences have published a paper demonstrating gross overbillings by smart energy meters, ranging from -32% to +582% of actual power consumption.

I'm pretty sure, the reader that you can see, is just supposed to be an indication of what you've paid that day, the info going back to base is the same as if you read the meter and let them know.

I'm pretty sure of that, as that, as roughly what I see the meter go up to each day, *30 is about what I pay each month, which is similar to what I was paying before, but now I get to see where the money goes, and am looking forward to summer so that the tumble drier isn't on.

I'm also glad my missus doesn't drink hot drinks, and we're not making formula any more!

I don't think those ppl that saw their smart meters go ludicrously high were actually charged that

Knew this was coming.....
Insurance companies are starting to exclude liability coverage for harm from RF-EMF/wireless radiation, which is regarding smart meters and mobile phones, etc that use wireless systems.

Shows you how seriously the insurance companies are taking the dangers of this technology possibly affecting the human body over a period of time.

Note: It is the law in the UK to refuse a smart meter if you do not want one. The only way a utility company can insist on a smart meter being fitted is if your analogue meter is too old. But you have the right to get it set on DUMB, which does not emit Wifi emf signal, and just send in email power readings.

So they know now when your taking a dump. This is taking data collection to the bottom of the pile

I suppose this information could be useful to toilet roll makers

Bandi tip: to confound any potential break-in thief's if they are watching your flush pattern, just train your parrot to flush the toilet when your out, so it can get fresh drinking water.

Re: above video...

Hes smart by having patrons paying him, to pay his energy bills

Agree that all smart meters are not compatible with all energy companies. I do not have a smart meter, mainly due to other things.

Agree you can get in a right mess changing energy companies, I lost £80, as my previous energy company said I was £120 in credit, then they told me there was gas not accounted for, (their clerical error in their favor, yeh, right) and  gave me £40 back , grrrh!  ..I had got to the stage i just wanted changeover complete, got some credit back, so did not argue.
