Page 2 of Tomb Raider movie (reboot)

Well i hated Red Sparrow and this isn't any better, frankly awful casting, the lead has no charisma, has from this movie anyway little or no acting chops, well she can cry on demand and had plenty of opporchancity in this dull, cardboard, downbeat excuse for an action movie, the supporting cast adding nothing to the very weak script and casting and the bad guy who can sometimes carry a movie was the worst thing about it, the storyline was laughable (based on the game?) I can't remember it was so long ago since i played it and i was very very close to walking out but i figured it had to get better, the ending actually had people in my screening laughing which is never a good thing and while it was set up to start a franchise i would be amazed if it takes enough money to get a sequel, on the plus side it got me to watch the original afterwards which was vastly superior in every way.

wow,this one must be bad, the first film is I think the only film I've seen at the cinema where I've gone to the loo mid film, rather than hold it in!

Booked tickets, going to see it tonight in the city multiplex cinema with missus, hope it is not as bad as mentioned above, as its a bit of a drive to get there and back.

Could not get seeing it in the local fleapit (two screen cinema), as they did not take it, due to an expectant low turn out, so that's saying something in my ear.

Saw the film and was pleasantly surprised how good it was, cinematic scenes were brilliant, of mountains, rough seas, the shipwreck, etc.

Also although there were bits of the reboot game added in like the shipwreck, there was none of the torture story involved, and the script moved away from the game somewhat, and that made it a lot more interesting. 

As for the female lead, well she was OK, but not Oscar winning performances stuff. Nothing Like Angelina Jolie's charisma and frontal assets 

In tomb scenes I always expected the usual Scooby Doo's let split up and die separately, but no it was the classic lets step on a floor trap switch by accident and see what happens.

Overall, quite a good picture and its set up for a sequel if there are enough box sales, which looks iffy going by the 10 people in the cinema audience, I saw that night.

The next time you two are seeing the same film, can you go together please, so we can be 100% sure you are watching same film :)

The great thing about movies is peoples reaction to them, I really disliked it but thats not the same as it being a bad movie, just not for me, one thing i didn't mention which annoyed me also was there was absolutely no humour in the movie, and action movies need that for me. Roll on the avengers :) Oh and i watched a chinese movie starring Kelsey Grammar , something about mummy tomb or something which while being really a b movie it was much more enjoyable that the a movie it knocked off.

Imdb says its called guardians of the tomb, wwaw if you enjoy the b movie type but don't watch if you have an aversion to spiders :)

You are right about the lack of humour Mbilko, could have done with a few laughs, as the body count went up.
