Ah, the wind force is strong in those two.

Finally went to see this one yesterday with my 13 year old son, and I can honestly say I was bored rigid - which really did surprise me.

To me it was just a rehash of Empire Strikes Back, but not as good, with the only difference being a moody Skywalker rather than a hectoring mentor in Yoda.

It was awful, even the Hoth-like battle was a crushing disappointment despite some Red Arrows-esque ground skimming - albeit with a hook for some reason whose sole purpose was creating some nice red smoke trails.

And the end Luke Island scene?  Just why?

Completely agree.
There are whole subplots that add nothing at all.

Finally saw this, after last week re-watching The Force Awakens, both with my neighbours. What's interesting is I thought this was about 30 minutes too long, I wasn't bored but it wasn't tight and the plot was a bit disjointed.

I thought Luke was a bit out-of-character comical, far more how I imagine Mark Hamill to be rather than Luke Skywalker. The animals where all cute, maybe I need to watch it a second time, some of the things I felt about the LOTR trilogy in the cinema vanished when I watched the extended editions at home, and that included pacing, but I still don't know if that is the edits being better or just I knew what was happening already.

I did enjoy it though, I wasn't bored, just only enjoyed it about 70% as much as the Force Awakens.

I think it could have been a bit more serious. Oh and...

Saw this yesterday, yeah only taken me six months to get round to it.
I liked it but it felt very formulaic, nothing new, nothing surprising.

I have a question, & can't use spoilers because I'm using a mobile.


SPOILER:
After their fight, how did Ray escape? Did I miss a rescue scene with Chewbacca and the Millennium Falcon?
Can't remember if I went to the loo or not, but at the length of the movie I might have.

I didn't like last jedi either, but I enjoyed Solo,  it was a bit long, but a pretty exciting ride.
