Arrival Si-fi film in cinemas now
Went to see this, this week, not bad, interesting storyline, some good effects.
Quite an interesting senario about a dozen alien spaceships landing around the Earth in different countries, and what World Governments/military would do about it...
My own thoughts....SPOILER:
....is that the amount of excess time given to figure out why the aliens were there, seemed highly unlikely, as they would never have been given such an amount of time before the landing site would have been Neuk-ed by at least one country.
i suppose this is the dangers on an alien landing.

Just saw this tonight and though it was fantastic, cracking premise, great screenplay and soundtrack, great performances from the leads and fascinating story and direction, easily my favourite movie of the year so far and i get the feeling when i watch it again ill pick up even more than 1st time around. WWAW :)

The idea of .....
SPOILER:
TIME being the important factor of the Aliens, and needing humanity in 3000 years time, was a good one, but pity they did not say why they needed humanity, maybe 'mankind as a food commodity' comes to mind, he he.
Also the chinese commander telling her his mobile phone number in the future scene brought in a time conundrum, as she needed that info to phone him in the past, a sort of chicken before the egg situation. Took a bit of thought.

SPOILER:
My thing was that they were 3000 years in future surely they would have learned our language by then and would have been so much easier to communicate? apart from that loved the movie

Watched this last night on Amazon and I agree with most of that but I have two problems with it.
The soundtrack was a total Pain in the ****. Loads of practically whispered dialogue so your constantly upping the volume until you get some alien input when the woofer on the soundbar registers on seismographs in the next country.
Also didn't appreciate the desaturation and lack of contrast, thought it was overdone.
