RE: [VIDEO] Blade Runner 2

Might have been the cinema screen I was in but the soundtrack was so overpowering it was just noise. Acting was average at best, I appreciate Ryan is supposed to be a synthetic but even in the scenes where he was supposed to be emoting he still came off as a plank. Ana was surprisingly good tho, as was the girl in the dream machine.

The cinematography was indeed rather nice, but overplayed and pretentious. The film could have very well been 90 minutes long if they weren't so interested in showing off. Honestly, the screen I was in and it was half full, I have never seen so many people carry a contagious yawn so may times.

And the snoring, the endless snoring...

Going to see this next week, Just hope it does not dissapoint after reading the above comments, as its origonal is a classic sifi movie.

I was really dissapointed with 'Ghost in the shell' recently using real actors, as it was nowhere as atmospheric as the Anime original version. And did not even use the original music to good effect.

Just come back and thought it was good.  As with Pete, it was unbelievably loud.  Also thought it was about half an hour too long - 90 mins would have been too short.
Thought it was good and had no issues with any of the acting.  Thought Ana (never heard of her) was is the double of Felicity Jones.
The last half hour especially was superb with some rather decent acting from Harrison Ford.

Just seen it today, and though it really good. No problem with noise levels as cinema had turned it down, due to many complaints.

As for the critics i can see why they do not like it due to the very slow build up of scenes, although the original Blade runner film was just as similar. Music although not Vangelis, was very Vangelis like and had some of the origonal film scores in there as well.

Overall, a very well made film, great CGI, great set designs, well acted especially by the lead actor, and stotyline was good, leaving it open for a sequel, if they want to do that.

Special mention goes to...
SPOILER:
The casino scene with the Holographic Elvis and dancing girls, which was like the original Blade runner atmosphere. One of the best scenes.

The Prostitute looking a bit like Darly Hannah (backing up the fact some replicants are similar or identical).

The CGI version of Rachel (at her original age), almost lifelike, definitely CGI persons are getting there, and will eventually be indistinguishable to real actors.

Harrison Fords acting was real good especially at the end.

Downside...
SPOILER:
Do not think there was a need for the evil head of the replicant builders to knife one of his own creations just for the fun of it. It was a gruesomely sick scene, which I would have preferred not to have seen. We knew he was evil, so thought the scene was not needed.

Also he was not killed off, so evil still wins out for another day, or as I suspect to allow for more sequels. re: the replicant army.

we watched Blade Runn.er the other week, really enjoyed it, hadn't seen it in years, then watched 2049 tonight. Hmmn, thought it was too long and a bit boring, I sort of lost interest a bit. It looked nice, and sounded nice but was way too slow :(

If you like that Blade Runner anime short... then good news everyone.

Crunchyroll and Adult Swim are producing a Blade Runner anime series, Blade Runner: Black Lotus, and they've thrown some serious names at it. Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed, Bubblegum Crisis) and Kenji Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and Eden of the East) as directors, as well as Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop and Terror in Resonance) as creative producer.

Why the name BLACK LOTUS?

I assume this will be like the film Animatrix that made a number of episodes back to back, to do with the matrix world.

So this should be seperate episodes based around the bladerunner world.
