RE: [VIDEO] Ghostbusters - Reboot - all women!
Quite fancy seeing this one in the cinema after looking at the trailers above (Japanese ones as well :D)
On a side note. Its a actually been a good year for films for me this year, been to at least three so far,and with many interesting films coming up like star trek 3 and new tarzan movie.
Last year I only went to a few films it was that bad, I could not bring myself to go, kept saying will wait till DVD. (Exception: Hatefull Eight which was superb at the cinema and on DVD).

"Watched it last night, and it's pretty much everything we expected. Bloody awful. Patchy, exploitative, shallow, embarrassing cameos and generally unlikeable characters. Screaming for yuks isn't funny, neither are fart gags."
Seconded. There were a couple of chuckles, but the gags fell flat far more often than not. Caricatures instead of characters, an incredibly weak antagonist, and the final act was a total dud. The post-credit scene made me groan.
I don't hold the original in the same sort of regard as some, but it's so much better than this. Solid characters with - shock horror - depth, intelligent, deadpan humour, a fully realised world with supporting mythology, 'realistic' effects (as opposed to neon CGI)... No contest.

I read a few comments praising the film the other on another forum, ppl liked it, looking at metacritic http://www.metacritic.com/movie/ghostbusters-2016?ref=hp and imdb http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1289401/?ref_=nv_sr_1

It's still quite high on Rottentomatoes, but interestingly there are no users reviews yet, just critic ones. I expect it to drop off accordingly.

Ghostbusters star Leslie Jones says she feels like she is in her own "personal hell" after receiving racist messages on Twitter.
The 48-year-old says she has been sent tweets blaming her for Aids and comparing her to a gorilla.
Life as a modern actor. :/
I suspect one day Google, Twitter, Facebook and Microsoft will crack an AI that can detect this level of abuse and just auto-ban them, then the rest of us can go on enjoying a happy internet whilst the racist, angry neanderthals are all miserable gits to each other in the corner.
I mean, Microsoft has already managed to make a racist AI, so it can't be that far away!

Just saw it at lunch time, as sneaked out of work, round the corner to the nearest cinema. Being the boss I can make executive decisions like that
Thought it was rather dross, the jokes were there but not laughable, acting by the women was rather poor, they were trying hard to make it gell, and get to like the characters, but it did not work, unlike the origional two films where the characters seemed real . Also story was rather poor as well.
Special; effects were brilliant, but that was the only saving grace.
Conclusion, luckly lunchtime viewing was only a fiver, so no big loss, and decided due to the good hot weather to take the rest of the day off and get an icecream.
Will NOT be buying the DVD when it comes out.
