I thought it (new one) looked a bit "meh".

I had heard it was sequel, that there was going to be a "passing of the baton moment" but does look like a reboot, the sequence with Ecto 1 suggests that :(

It's the common problem though isn't it, those of us who loved Ghostbusters as kids have our super powerful rose tinted glasses, and generally most of us don't like remakes ;)

I thought the whole "30 years ago" introduction was establishing it as a sequel. And some original cast listed on IMDB for the presumed hand over.
