RE: [VIDEO] Clerks 3

Just watched it.

It's indescribably meta. Everyone in the film is a callback, even every scene, but who knew Brian O'Halloran could actually act? It might be the couple of beers talking  but given the dross that's hit the cinemas this years, that was possibly one of the best emotional performances I've seen in a very long time.

Jay & Bob are a bit tired now, and it's a little embarassing to see them doing the same thing 30 years later, but Elias' return after Clerks 2 is amazing and again, he makes the movie worth watching for his subtlety alone.

It's really worth a watch, but not because it;'s Kevin Smith niche. You'd have to be familiar with the first 2 to get 75% of the in-jokes, but I can think of worse ways of spending 90 minutes

went into cex the other day Mallrats and Chasing Amy were £1 each on DVD, Dogma £8 DVD so go them, so when Clerks 3 arrives next week I'll have them all on dvd/blu ray. (the young lady in cex congratulated me on my "solid" movie choice)

might start with clerks tonight, then watch 1 film a night in run up to 3 arriving :) I remember watching jay and bob reboot wishing i had watched them again to get more of the in jokes and references, I haven't seen Mallrats and Chasing Amy for a long time.

So, Christmas period caught up with the View Askewniverse ready for Clerks 3, glad I did watch them all over last week or so

Clerks - still brilliant, one of my fave films

Mallrats - not sure I've seen that since it was on TV years ago, whem I prob watched it for Shannon Doherty, anyway, Jay and Bob steal the show it's ok

Chasing Amy - good

Dogma - you can see Smith had a bit more money to make this, a classic :)

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back - really funny, enjoyed it, v silly, a lot foo fun

Clerks 2 - a rare film, possibly better than the original!!!

Jay and Silent Bob's Super Groovy Cartoon Movie - lets not talk about that :(

Jay and Silent Bob Reboot - I was actually a bit disapointed, wasn't as good as I remembered it being, but looking at what I put before, I think I enjoyed it as a relief it wasn't as bad as some other films I had watched at the time ;)

Clerks 3 - loved it.
