Well I sat in the cinema on a Saterday, with only six people on seats.

This more or less tells how few people are interested in this fishy story.

Now I like the the old Goostbuster chappy, thats why I wanted to give it a chance, but this film is a total disaster.

Theres a lot of money put into it, a lot of good actors, a few good moments, but as for it being a comedy, there was a defening silence from all six of us :/

I would say, save your money, and if you have to see it, wait till you can hire it for a few squid.

Well, I disagree entirely... I thought it was hilarious and was quite touching and emotional in parts.

SPOILER:
Favourite bits:

When the pirates leave their dog behind

The ridiculous pseudo-action sequences on the boat and the strike on Ping Island - mainly because of Mark Mothersbaugh`s quicky score

Willem Dafoe`s character not understanding the mutiny

Bill Murray constantly calling Cate Blanchett a bull-dyke, despite her obvious heavy pregnancy

Definitely picking up the lovely Criterion 2 discer!

Saw this in the cinema on Friday morning (about 50 people there). Brilliant and genius come to mind. Wes Anderson`s films are brilliant and very rewatchable (actually, they get better with each viewing so far).

But I`d say The Life Aquatic, on first viewing, is his worst film. Bottle Rocket is a great "wee independent" film with a a lot of heart. Rushmore and The Royal Tenenbaums are well crafted comedies with not one inch of space left wasted... they`re as perfect as they could be. The Life Aquatic is far more ambitious and complex so it`s impossible to take it all in on one viewing.

But top-notch entertainment and highly recommended (as long as you like his previous films).

I saw it on Friday night in a 90% full cinema. I thought it was very good. Certanly different from anything I have seen before with bizzarre humour. I really enjoyed it.

Saw it at a Vue cinema so they probably thought like a previous poster that hey it has that ghostbusters bloke in so they put it on by mistake as a mainstream film.
Its quirky and I liked it but anyone who went to see it because they think Bill Murray is funny should in future check out what the directors previous films are like otherwise its their own fault if they don`t like it.

Saw it yesterday and loved it. May have even preferred it to Royal Tenenbaums but would need to see a few times to be sure. Once again a great performance from Bill Murray. A typical Anderson film: funny, strange and in the end quite sad and poignant
