I`ve got the R1 boxset and the sound is just amazing. The picture quality is also jaw dropping considering the age of the films, they could have been made yesterday.

I take it by R0, you mean bootleg copies?

The picture is indeed amazing especially in the latter two films but although the sound is very good (and loud) does anyone else have the problem that the center channel is a bit quiet compared to the surrounds? Maybe it`s just me cause I`m using the on board decoder on my Pioneer 626, but sometimes the dialogue is drowned out by the music... which sounds incredible now... but still.

No, I haven`t noticed anything wrong with the soundtrack. Speech is always clear. But I`ll now have to watch them again just to make sure ;)

Temple Of Doom...

I bought the Indiana Jones DVD set yesterday but haven`t had time to watch all of it yet. All the time it has been said that in the UK a scene was cut from the Temple Of Doom because it wasn`t for a PG rating. Is that scene cut from the DVD?

As far as I know it is still cut, as Paramount did not apply for reclassification for a new unedited version, which is very odd as, given the BBFC`s leniency of late, it would most likely have been offered a 12 without much debate, and how many under 12`s can afford to buy the `Indiana Jones` boxset anyway... or would want to... or am I so out of touch? Of course, you could look at it this way: if you`ve never seen anything but the British version, you won`t notice the difference.

Yes. To be honest I haven`t seen The American version of Temple of Doom so I wouldn`t know any difference at all in the R2 DVD. I wonder why it can`t be a PG rated movie even with that cut scene included? Surely it has been 19 years since it was cut from the movie. Why can`t they put it in the DVD? They could have done a DVD like Independence Day where you can watch a cut and uncut version. Didn`t they cut the scene back in 1984 because it wasn`t for younger viewers? I doubt that many youngsters would be buying these DVD`s. Not for a while anyway.

First time I`ve watched them in a many years, and I was surprised by the content. More shocks and gore than I remember. Bought them as films for the family but wont be letting the little ones watch them just yet.

I suspect that if they resubmitted they might get 12 certificates these days, maybe not what Paramount wanted.

The DVD still has 66 seconds cut.Current BBFC policy does not allow a higher certificate to be granted for a film already available at a lower certificate.
But its ok for a film with an 18 that had say,60 seconds cut ,to be rereleased uncut.Don`t they talk bollocks.I think they make up the rules as they go along
