Is there any other Region 4 discs that have Region 2 coding aswell?

Hello
I recently received The Abyss Special Edition R4 and tried it on my Playstation 2 UK model and it played no problem. I`m asking the above question because my Samsung 709 laser unit has gone, so while I`m waiting for it to be repaired I`d like to order some more region 4 movies but i`m not sure whether all region 4 discs play on a region 2 only machine. Thanks in advance.
David

Maybe the PS2 isn`t actually bothered by regions, just whether it`s PAL or NTSC?

Australia is PAL, so maybe all r4s would work?

Then again it`s more likely to be a disc specific thing.

I have `the x-files movie` region 4 and it plays fine on my region 2 ps2. i also questioned whether it was r2 and r4 compatable but according to the store in australia it`s only r4 .... sooo i guess the ps2 does play r4 titles .. :) ...

as for playing ntsc ... i have tryed anime titles , i think it`s r2(japan) but i`m sure it`s ntsc , and it played fine ... it`s only r1(ntsc) titles that refuse to play ... :(
