ACCEPTABLE, ALBEIT EVENTUAL RESOLUTION TO PROBLEMS WITH MOVIESVILLE.COM ORDER....

godoylego

Acceptable, albeit eventual resolution...

A BIT OF HISTORY:

I purchased two dvd`s from Moviesville.com thru Ebay on November 6th (eBay Items #6449176602 and #6449176599, Moviesville Order # 8601513). I was unaware that the items were shipping from Hong Kong, since the listing stated that the seller was in the U.S. They had 100% positive feedback, and many users spoke of their fast shipping. I waited patiently, but they left ebay and were "No Longer A Registered User" right after my transaction. UH-OH!! I kept in contact with them thru ebay about the transaction...with their short, concise emails that offered no details about how long to wait, or how long to expect shipping to take, continuously telling me just to WAIT, WAIT, WAIT. 6 weeks, 7 weeks, 8 weeks went by and NO DVD`s. It has now been over 9 WEEKS and they stopped responding to my emails thru Ebay and have never responded to my email sent to Moviesville.com. I even left a message on their Voicemail and filed a claim with Ebay for "Items Never Received"....still NO REPLY.
I am left to assume that I will never see my order. This is very disappointing, and I just wanted to post here in the hopes that Lingling, or someone who would care, might come here and offer some help in the matter. I would love to know that these things work out sometimes, but I am feeling rather pessimistic at this point. Moviesville.com should really do the right thing by their buyers, as they are only hurting their reputation and credibility by leaving customers in the dark by witholding contact and being unavailable thru their email and voicemail. What else can a person do but come here and vent?

AND HERE IS THE OUTCOME:
Long after emailing customer support with information about the posts I`ve left here and elsewhere, I finally received an email in February...four months later...from a Michael Sullivan (seerged221[at]moc.liamg)...that said, "how can I help? did you miss an order?" I gave an extremely detailed description of all that has happened and then hear NOTHING from him until I email him two more times over the next 3 weeks. He finally offered to let me order something else...not what I had originally ordered, which they are selling for three times as much as I paid for the items from them on ebay (but never received), but I would have a $40.00 credit to spend. After an initial attempt to order a boxed set priced at $39.99, and the indication that they expected me to pay the shipping and handling charges (like that`s going to happen) I went back to the site and found that they had conveniently jacked the price of that box set up...clearly didn`t want me ordering that item...I ordered a dvd box set that I didn`t even want just in the hopes that I could recoup my money by selling it on ebay. Of course, everything is region 3 from them, so that is a lofty ambition, but I`ll take what I can get at this point. They shipped the box set and it finally arrived ...and as I`ve said, it`s not even anything I want...just one of the only things that is priced so that I wouldn`t need to pay anything additional for shipping...and wasn`t packed well, so the flipcase was damaged. So much for selling it on ebay! I emailed him to tell him how disappointed the whole experience had been and he asked me to send him a picture of the broken case, which I did. He told me he would get back to me. It has now been 11 days and no reply.

POSTSCRIPT:
I have to say that amazingly, Michael Sullivan emailed me asking if it would be acceptable if he sent me a region 1 dvd set of the same title to compensate for the two dvd`s I had originally ordered on Ebay back in November (they were region 3). I am satisfied with this (providing they do arrive), and have to say that I do feel that they did come through in their efforts to address my problem. It took some perseverence on my part, but I feel that...at least in my case, they appear to be at least trying to operate from the place of trying to deal with the issues they have had with some items not arriving. It is just too bad that it did take soooo long and soooo much effort on my part to reach this resolution. I hope others who have had shipping issues and feel they have lost money get a desirable outcome through less effort in the future. The whole process exhausted me.

FINALLY:
In response to Ling Ling`s posts here--I was never offered a replacement for the The Best Of Youth until very late in the game--and only after an American version had been released--not the one that was selling on their website for $39.99 each, the region 3 version that came in two separate parts that I had originally ordered. But I`m not complaining. Michael Sullivan emailed me recently (at the end of this mess...after I received the defective set I mentioned earlier and sent him an email just to provide feedback for all that I had been thru, mentioning that a replacement for my original selection had never been offered, since he had given me a $39.99 credit which would have only covered Part 1 of the region 3 two part set...plus I would have had to pay for shipping) and asked if the American version would be ok, which it was.
Well, true to his word, Michael Sullivan did come through and I finally did receive the American release of The Best Of Youth last week in the mail. It definitely took some time, energy and patience on my part, but I`m glad at least that I didn`t lose the money I spent back in November. I do have to say that I believe that the company has been experiencing some problems with their customer service that have created some delays in resolving issues, but in my experience, they came through with a fair solution in the end. This way of treating people could go a long way towards rebuilding their reputation. I felt that he did TRY to do the right thing...by me at least. By the way, they are selling on Ebay now as "entertainment_update" with 100 % positive feedback with 14 transactions.

Even when they attempt to resolve my problem, they did not offer to replace the items that I actually bought, or give me a refund. The money is just lost. BEWARE!
