RE: Futurama, best season??

Nope, there are no other episodes, they`re all on the DVD`s.

Now, someone mentioned the possibility of a Movie (or three), well, this is from Billywest.com:

"Well,I spoke to David X.Cohen because we did promos for a new Futurama compilation and he said that they did have talks with the top guys at FOX and they were extremely impressed with the sales of the Futurama DVDs.The idea was to make a Futurama movie right to DVD and then a 2nd and a 3rd.That`s what`s being discussed.Fox is trying to figure out a budget for the whole project, and it sounded like David X. was very jazzed!
I would love more than anything to do that show again.I thought it was best experience on every level...creatively,voice-wise,writing,animation and the laughs. The laughs.Writers and performers that respected each other.
No derelict genius looking down the barrel of his own complacency wrecking everything in his wake.
Wouldn`t it be nice?
A great day to be us.What`s better than that?

Love is in the air and so is mercury but we`re working on it.

Bye all,
Billy

Cool, huh?

RE: ALBA DVD54 - region hack

I`ve just got one of these players too, an absolute bargain, but I`d also appreciate a hack for this machine.

RE: Early contender for album of 2004.........

Agreed on the Lostprophets and Incubus albums.

"Pistola" and the single, "Megalomaniac" are big favourites on the Incubus album.

RE: Directors Commentary - Rob Brydon

I love this. I`ve seen both, and agree with Graham, it`s quite light, then belts out a comment which makes you laugh out loud.

I loved last nights Bruce Forsythe-isms and the tributes to Denny, the midget cameraman.

RE: Channel 4 - Friends

If they`re gonna choose something to repeat, choose "Spaced" - I`d watch that over and over.

RE: Hello, I`m Jenson Button and I will make BBCi sound really interesting.

Jenson`s got that crappy mullet thing going on though, so I`d rather he went down to the barbers instead of being on my TV screen, telling me stuff I knew already.

RE: Futurama - The End is nigh

Indeed. That`s pretty much the reason things went pairshaped.

One small ray of light, is that Fox have realised the error of their ways with Family Guy, which they`ve renewed on the back of good DVD sales.

Because Matt and David will not relinquish "creative control" on Futurama, Fox probably won`t see the light on it, and it won`t come back. DVD-only, a movie, or a cut-price version on CN is the best we can hope for.

However, as a long time fan of the show, I`m mixed about it carrying on, as I`ve watched with disappointment how The Simpsons has slowly gone down the toilet. Best to leave it as it was, classic, and brilliant, and we all know that it didn`t go stale.

Gimme Slade anyday!

Well I wish it could be Christmas... everydaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay...

That`s Wizzard, not Slade. ;)

RE: Advice required from Pink Floyd fans!

Big time Floyd Fan. Agreed with the posts about Final Cut, except if you`re feeling gloomy, it get`s hard going.

The Wall Live album is incredible, as is P.u.l.s.e (we so need a DVD of that!).

Go for Atom Heart Mother too. It`s not a popular choice, but I like it.

I think Roger Waters best Solo Album is Radio KAOS.

RE: What was your first live concert?

My first gig was a doozy!

Pink Floyd at London Docklands Arena in 1989. It`ll never be bettered, ever! Incredible!

Oh, and I saw Genesis too, at Leeds in 1992. I`ve seen so many bands, difficult to list them all.

RE: American Wedding - opinions??

I enjoyed the movie, rounded off the "trilogy" very well. Only criticism is that apart from the proposal scene, Alyson Hannigan was pretty much a straight-person thorugh the whole film, not nearly as cooky in previous efforts. Shame that, I like her.

It`s a minor quibble as the rest of the film is pretty good.

RE: Futurama - The End is nigh

CN picked up Futurama for syndication in the US, as part of "Adult Swim" the late night arm of Cartoon Network and it quickly became their most-watched show.

CN simply doesn`t have the budget to cough up the $1m an-episode, which Futurama needs to exist.

We might have to hold out for the movie, which Matt Groening is hinting at.

The whole Fox Vs. Futurama thing came about because Fox hates the show, they wanted The Simpsons In Space, and when they tried to insist on "creative input" in the shows, Matt Groening and David X. Cohen told them to get lost. Since then, Fox had moved it to the 7pm "Deathslot" on Fox (often pre-empted by Football), and never aired a single commercial for it, nor promoted it in any way, shape or form.

It still managed to win an Emmy (for Season 3 Episode "Roswell That Ends Well") despite all this.

RE: Something odd happening on BB ?

I agree, completely
