That`s normal: you need to have 9 digits, but you have to enter the whole hack code to make it region free. It doesn`t matter if you can`t see the whole code on the display. It will work.

The hack to disable Macrovision seems not to work.Sorry.

But i`m interested to know how you burn your mp3 for your DVD player.
I tried a lot of thing, but mine seems not to play mp3.

Can you tell me the system informations from your mx1060 (by presing twice on the *system menu" button)

here is the solution (but next time you can use the search button)

1.Insert a music cd

2.Press stop once it says total x. x=tracks

3.Press system

4.Press 1

5.Press RDS search

6.Press open/close

and select vcd-yes presing the "1" button.

thanks for informations. A month....it`s a very long time for me as well...

just try this: put your dvd player in place where there is more free space. Perhaps it will work better.

i got exactly the same problem as you after about 1,5 hours playing some DvD: it freeze, and says "skip bad areas". When it happens, i just turn off my player, wait 2 minutes and turn it back on. After it can read the DvD without problem. I think it`s a temperature problem. But it doesn`t happend with all disk. I tried to make more free space around my player, but it doesn`t change a thing.I think i will send it for checking. If you will have some news about yours, please tell me.

Thank you for the information about VCD 2.0. I never try to read VCD 1.0.

Just a question: did someone know who made the dvd part of this MX1060 or dfr 1600 ? (that`s not Philips. I ask them, and they said that`s they did it, but it`s not true...;-))

i don`t understand why you`re asking this question, because with the hack, you can read all DVD disk from all zones. Than zone 0 or whatever...

You say you`re waiting for a remote...i hope it`s not a One4all remote, because you don`t need it for this player for hacking...it won`t work

OK, Ok, ok....i will tell you all.....ready ?....;-)))

1. select DvD mode
2. open the DvD tray, and leave it open !
3. press "system menu"
4. press "1" "6" and "7", but don`t choose any region !
5. put the "region free CD" in the tray and close it
6. after 5 second the display will show you: "all region enabled" and "VCD 1.0"

nice isn`t it ?

what ?....hem..hem..yes, i nearly forgot....the region free cd...what is it exactly ? this ! :

1. load this file by clicking on this link http://66.197.63.122/forum/attachment.php?s=&postid=235
2. rename the file "235" into "235.zip"
3. extract the file "av1.hex"
4. burn this file into a cd-r (iso 9660, finalized)
5. you`ve got now the "region free cd"

p.s: dont forget ! if someone have the solution to disable Macrovision for this DvD player, tell it us ! please...

Just a thing: i tried the trick for playing VCD: it works perfectly for me as well

but the one to disable the macrovision doesn`t. I did exactly what you wrote, but nothing happends. I need to press twice the exit button to get out of the system menu..?..do you have any ideas ?
