check out the DVD players at www.redstore.com

they`ve got a mustek one that does all the usual stuff (mp3 and whatnot) for £87. it`s 340mm across.

for VCRs, empire direct have the Sanyo VHRH792E (4 head, NTSC playback etc) for £78.91 which is 360mm across.

it sounds like you need a holiday. I hear Florida is nice this time of year.

Having just had a quick look at the specs, I`d say go for it.
Richers do have that Toshiba matey mentioned for £187.95 which does look good.
