RE: Browser change

Did you do anything with your Windows account? The one you sign into Windows with? That's the only thing I can think of, other than it's a bug. :(

"So...David Luiz?"

He did already? For a reduced rate. I've got this idea about Luiz, he's really good for a few games and then makes a horrible howler or two that costs us a major game. So we just need to work out how many to play him before skipping a game and we're fine!

[VIDEO] RE:Arsenal: 2019/2020

Footballers, so arrogant...

...not all of them. :) It's great he's signed, I really hope he continues to grow as his attitude is brilliant, he's got so much potential, and been at Arsenal since he was 8 makes it all the more perfect.

Even a nod to Emery for giving him chances. If he carries on growing, future England star!

You survived Jim Davison no longer being able to do Chalky jokes, yelling puffta at other men and wolf whistling any woman in a short skirt.

Hopefully these were because you gained empathy for the people on the other end of these things. You'll just do the same thing again. It'll be fine.

I think you'll survive this!

They won't get away with that, because our recovery will be entirely based on our trading conditions, which will be based on trading deals they are trying to make right now.

So if we are the slowest to recover, then either we got hit too hard by Covid (governments fault) or we didn't get deals which were better than being in the EU (governments fault).

No, I really don't! :)

Did I imagine it, or did we score and win in the last few minutes? We've not done that for years!

It was nice to see David Luiz have a good game, mainly because when he doesn't we lose.

Yes, I wish they would publish the science they are basing their decisions on. It's very frustrating, but then this is not an open government by any means, so it's not surprising.

Also, I don't hear a lot of governments around the world working together to pool their scientific resources, although I'm sure institutions are doing this themselves.

RE: [VIDEO] Windows 7 RIP

Some really nice person gave me a Win 7 Pro key, which helped me use all my RAM on my work machine. (Thank you nice person!)

This became a gift that kept on giving, because when I upgraded this machine to Win 10 Pro, the activation became account based. So the key was still free, so I used it again on my new games PC, and then again on my new Macbook Pro bootcamp Win 10 install...

...but it finally gave up for some reason on my old Macbook Pro when I tried to use it for that bootcamp. I guess I had a really good run!

RE: [VIDEO] Coronavirus, anyone starting to get worried?

I think on the island we had our first official new case for 10 days. But the real problem is still testing, we don't know how many more outside of hospital are infected, and there are big question marks over how good these tests are.

Also we don't know about immunity. Some of these things I don't really understand why we don't know yet.

RE: If you thought the UK was a police state (still not sure why you'd think that)

I think the whole BLM viewpoint from most white people, and it's easy to think this way, is:

"This is terrible, people of colour are having a horrid time of it... what do you mean for things to be fair white people have to give things up?????? OMG I'm not putting up with that! That's racist!!!"

"Not sure that's right, locally we have newsagents now doing home deliveries. We have restaurants offering takeaway meals, we have local butchers doing delivery. The opportunity is there."

I don't know what retail is like where you are, but there are people here on a seaside town who none of this would work for. And there are people here running food places who are doing that, but other people who cannot do that because they are extremely high risk of dying if they caught covid 19.

Si Wooldridge says...
"If retailers haven't taken the opportunity to ramp up on-line operations, then they're fools"

A lot of retailers can't do this, big ones with a presence already can, but there is a whole collection of them that need footfall to make a living. There are a lot of things people just don't tend to buy online as well.

Whilst it was closed, I bought things I would have bought in town from Amazon and eBay, because the town was closed. There is no way any of these retailers would have any hope of setting up an e-commerce site and get any sort of traffic to run it or even deliver it without any delivery infrastructure.

I'm not saying this is a good or a bad thing, and you can easily argue that people not buying clothes they don't really need and all the other things places like Primark sell that they'd never buy unless they walked past it because the design of the store makes them walk past it, but retail doesn't just magically all move online. A lot of it vanishes.

I got 6 months of Apple TV free with my Macbook, the only thing I've seen on it is the Beastie Boys special. It will have expired before this comes out.
